Stephen Curry ran to the sidelines to celebrate his first Olympic gold medal with his family at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Photos snapped at Bercy Arena on Saturday, August 10, show Curry, 36, celebrating with his wife, Ayesha Curry, and their two sons just after the Americans secured their win over France during the men’s basketball final. As Steph cheered with 6-year-old son Canon, Ayesha looked on smiling as she held the couple’s newborn son, Caius.
Additional footage of the heartwarming moment shared via social media showed Steph jogging over to his family, where he jumped up and down excitedly with Canon before giving Ayesha and the baby each a kiss.
Along with Canon and Caius, Steph and Ayesha share daughters Riley, 12, and Ryan, 9. Caius made an “early arrival” when he was born in May, per a joint Instagram post from the couple at the time. The announcement arrived only two months after Ayesha revealed that she and Steph were expecting Baby No. 4.
Every Medal Team USA Won at the 2024 Paris Olympics
The 2024 Games mark Stephen’s first Olympics. Two of his four children made it to Paris to watch their dad win his first-ever Olympic medal as he lifted Team USA to a 98-87 win against France by scoring four three-pointers with three minutes left in the game. The four-time NBA champion finished the game with 24 points and five assists.
“At that point, your mind goes blank. You don’t really care about the setting or the scenario or anything, it’s just a shot,” Curry told The New York Times of his threes in a post-game interview. “Thankfully, that one went in, it settled us down, and after that, it’s just rhythm and flow and confidence and that was it.”
Team USA’s gold medal win marked the fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal for the men’s basketball team. For Lebron James, it was his fourth Olympic medal, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds and 10 assists. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant broke records as the first male athlete of any team sport with four gold medals.

Team USA’s win came after a nailbiter of a semifinal game against Serbia on Thursday, August 8. While the Americans trailed behind for most of the game, they were able to pull ahead in the fourth quarter and nab a 95-91 win.
“Gotta get it the hard way. We were preaching that the whole fourth quarter,” James, 39, said in an interview after the game against Serbia. “We knew it was going to be difficult. We knew Serbia was going to give us everything they had. Kudos to Ser

Reason Behind Ayesha Curry’s Clash With Paris Cops Revealed Amid Claims Her Newborn Baby Was Struck
Stephen Curry‘s wife, Ayesha Curry, was faced with an uncomfortable incident after the men’s basketball final at the Olympics on Saturday.
According to reports, a police blockade outside the location prevented the mother-of-four from heading to a pickup car after the game despite her mother-in-law’s pleas.
Ayesha Curry remained silent throughout the incident, but she appeared visibly upset and eventually began to shed tears.
A Police Blockade Prevented Ayesha Curry And Her Family From Getting To Their Vehicle
MEGA After watching her husband and his teammates dominate in the Olympics men’s basketball final on Saturday, Ayesha found herself caught in a messy situation as she headed to a car waiting outside the venue.
She was accompanied by her mother-in-law, Sonya, and two of her children, Canon Jack, 6, and newborn Caius. Her husband’s Golden State teammate, Draymond Green, was also present, perhaps escorting the family back to the car.
Just as Ayesha and her family attempted to cross the road to where the vehicle was parked and waiting, they were stopped by a police blockade that wasn’t restricting all forms of movement at the time.
Surprised by the situation, Ayesha’s mother-in-law tried to appeal to the officers to let them through.
“Look, they won’t let us go back over there where we came from,” Sonya could be heard addressing the officers in a now-viral video of the incident. “They won’t let the driver come here and they won’t let us go back over there.”
Ayesha Curry’s Newborn Baby Appeared To Have Been ‘Touched’ During The Incident
The situation quickly escalated after it appeared that one of the officers might have touched baby Caius on the head.
Sonya could then be seen yelling out loud to one of the officers the words, “You will not sleep well” and “Don’t touch the baby.”
Ayesha, who could be seen visibly upset and crying, remained quiet during the confrontation, allowing Sonya to make all the appeals.
However, despite the pleas, the police continued to prevent them from moving even after Sonya tried to indicate that their waiting car was close.
Why The Police Stopped Stephen Curry’s Family
MEGA Throughout the incident, the language barrier posed a challenge as the officers primarily spoke French.
Fortunately, a passerby noticed the situation and stepped in to translate between the police and Ayesha’s family.
As the standoff continued, the translator learned from the officers that the blockade had been set up for security reasons because President Emmanuel Macron was passing through the area.
“Nobody’s allowed to cross the street right now until he’s passed,” the passerby informed Ayesha and her family, per the Daily Mail.
Draymond Green Called Out The Paris Cops For Allegedly Hitting The Baby
One of the cops reportedly apologized about the baby situation while the passerby translated.
However, Ayesha and her family were still held back, which prompted Green to jump into the conversation.
The NBA star asked in shock, “So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?’
It is unclear when Ayesha and her family were finally allowed to leave, but it most likely occurred after the president’s motorcade passed.
Fans React To Ayesha Curry’s Tense Showdown With The Police
While neither Ayesha nor her husband has publicly commented on the incident, fans have expressed their opinions about it on social media.
“Why won’t they let them get back to their car? I’m confused,” a surprised fan commented.
Some also speculated that the police reacted that way as punishment for Curry’s win against the France team.
One user remarked, “They did that in retaliation for the 8 3-pointer Steph curry throw on their team,” while another commented, “They just pissed because her husband showed up and showed out against France basketball team.”
A third person wrote, “Those police knew what they were doing. I’m assuming they [are] mad at Steph Curry. Police are punish [sic] his family as a result. Smh!!”
However, others have claimed that the police were respectful and simply doing their duty.
A user wrote, “If you understood French, you’d see these policemen were very respectful. The road was blocked because the French president was exiting the arena after the game. Stop expecting the world to bend the rules for celebrities that they don’t even know or care about.”
One more person commented, “French president was about to drive through the area, the police blocks the whole traffic, which is very common. They asked to go through, but it ain’t working like this.”

Learn. Pla) Steph Curry’s family ended up in a confrontation with police after he helped Team USA men’s basketball earn a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
According to a video shared by The Hollywood Fix, the Golden State Warriors player’s wife, Ayesha Curry, and his mother, Sonya Curry, were spotted with fellow Warriors player Draymond Green speaking to police in Paris, France. The clip showed Ayesha crying while her mother-in-law spoke to the officers, who were allegedly preventing the family from getting into their car.
Ayesha was seen carrying the couple’s youngest son, Caius, as another child who appeared to be Curry’s oldest son, Canon, walked with a flag draped around his shoulders. “Look, they won’t let us go back over there where we came from,” Sonya told the officers, while pointing toward a location away from the camera. “They won’t let the driver come here, and they won’t let us go back over there.”One officer came over to translate for the Parisian officers, and at one point could be heard saying: “Sorry about the baby.” It is not currently clear what had happened before the incident.
Although Steph was not in the video, his teammate Green seemed to intervene when he could be heard saying in the background: “So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?”
Ayesha and her family were reportedly not allowed to get to their vehicle because “the president” was coming by and “nobody’s allowed to cross the street right now until he’s passed,” someone said in the clip.
The Independent has reached out to representatives for both Steph and Ayesha for comment.
Steph’s family was in attendance at the Paris 2024 Olympics to watch him play with Team USA men’s basketball. During their gold medal-winning game against France on August 10, Team USA beat the host country by 11 points with a final score of 98 to 87. Twenty-four of those points were scored by Steph during the game, including four three-pointers inside the final three minutes of the game.
“I’ve seen that from Steph a few times, but it never gets old,” Team USA and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the game. “It’s a global game with a lot of great players, but we still feel we have the greatest players. They were all so unselfish throughout this whole thing, through all the noise, all the pressure. We might be the only team in the world whose fans are ashamed of them if they get a silver medal, and that’s the pressure we face.
“But our players — and you saw Steph — they love the pressure. They appreciate this atmosphere, and they were fantastic,” he said.
Steph and Ayesha were married in 2011 and share four children together: daughters Riley, 12, and Ryan, nine, and sons Canon, six, and Caius, three months. Ayesha announced her pregnancy with her youngest child earlier this year in a cover interview with Sweet July Magazine.
“What’s been interesting has been my doctor’s appointments,” she explained to the outlet about her latest pregnancy. “I’m in my 30s, and so there’s all this paperwork referring to the experience as a ‘geriatric pregnancy’ and all the concerns that come along with that.”
“I think there’s something that needs to be more nuanced when it comes to women, their age, and conversations around having children,” she added. “Many women in their 30s and 40s are going through this for the first time, and being told you’re ‘old’ feels alarming and wild. I think the narrative needs to be shifted a little bit.”
The makers of “le Big Mac” have a bone to pick with Paris Olympics champion Steph Curry. On Aug. 10, Team USA beat the French 98-87 in the men’s basketball gold medal game. Stephen Curry, who hit four three-pointers in the final three minutes of the game, secured the U.S. its fifth consecutive Olympic gold.
After the final and most crucial three-pointer in Bercy Arena, Curry pulled his “night, night” taunt, where he pretends to tuck his opponents in for their bedtime.
He later poured fine French sea salt in the wound by wearing a “nuit-nuit” T-shirt after the game.
Stephen Curry No. 4 of Team USA reacts after a three point basket on Aug. 10, 2024, in Paris, France. While LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker all scored in the double digits, it was Curry who garnered the attention — and the ire — of the French, who ended up with silver on their home court. This, clearly, didn’t go over well with the Golden Arches of France.
McDonald’s France posted a picture of its Classic Curry dipping sauce on Instagram alongside text that translates to, “For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce.”
“For 4 years minimum,” the caption reads. The post generated over 23,000 likes in one day.
“This is a joke in reference to yesterday’s basketball game and Stephen Curry’s huge performance,” a McDonald’s France representative tells TODAY.com over email.
The fact that the post was made in jest didn’t stop hundreds of Instagram users from arguing — in both French and English — in the comments.
“Why? It’ll go great with the silver 😮💨,” taunted one commenter in English.
“Rename it to Wemby sauce,” someone else commented in French, suggesting that the chain rename the dip after French player Victor Wembanyama.
“@mcdonalds If they want to remove this in France, then YOU need to bring it to the United States. Do the right thing….” one commenter argued.
Another commenter showed great sportsmanship by writing, “Congratulations again to the 2 teams because it was a beautiful match until the end,” in French.
Representatives for McDonald’s USA did not immediately respond to TODAY.com’s request for comment on whether it would bring curry sauce stateside in honor of the point guard.
Either way, the American arches are glowing a little more gold today, thanks to Team USA’s Paris victory
